Ant-Man

Yesterday I went to the movies with my friend, Louis, to watch the new release ANT-MAN! At about midday Louis and I were at Sylvia Park buying our snacks from Pak ‘N’ Save. We brought a party bag of Doritos, Lift plus for me and coke for him, thins (biscuits) and chocolate to share. After that we made our way to the cinema. The whole point of going to the movies was for my uncles Karate Team fundraiser. They were raising money for their trip to Melbourne, Australia.

When we arrived at the theatres there were heaps of people waiting outside for a pack which included lollies, ice cream, popcorn and a drink for $5. But Louis and I just walked past as we already had our snacks. When we entered the theatre and couldn’t believe it… the whole cinema was already PACKED! Only seats up the front were left so Louis and I sat there. At about 3:30 the movie started.

After watching the movie I was so amazed with all the graphics, action and special effects involved. Ant-Man is all about a guy named Hank Pym who has been kicked out of his company from his co-worker Darren Cross. Hank then recruits Scott Lang who has just been released from prison to be the Ant-Man! Scott gets trained by Hank along with his daughter Hope. After Scott's training is perfect he then gets armed with a suit that shrinks his size but still allows him to have his human strength. With his suit he can also control an army of ants that can fry enemy technology (sabotage), transform into something that can get him out of difficult places and many other cool roles. Scott then has to stop Darren (A.K.A Yellow Jacket) from mastering the same technology and using it as a weapon for evil things!

My favourite part in the movie has to be the ending when Scott turns off his regulator and zaps himself and Yellow Jacket into a place where it is impossible to get out. But Scott gets lucky with a blue disc that he puts inside his regulator which makes him big again and get out of the molecules that trapped him. The other guy has no escape plan and dies recklessly.

Overall the movie was absolutely AWESOME!! I went around to my uncle’s house to find out how much money they raised and you won’t believe how much they made. Over $2,000 went to my uncles team!! Hint hint… what a great idea for fundraising if I need money for something!

~Easter Show Recount~

It was the last night for the Easter Show, I begged my mum to go and she said, “Yes." So we got changed into warm clothes and zoomed off, Vrmmmmmm! But first, we collected two of my cuzzies named Kingston and Faith. When we arrived at the show Kingston and I headed towards the Flava stage.

“Salsa!” A man shouted into the microphone. It was the Banda Latina Salsa Group. “Arribaaaa!” The salsa group picked some people from the audience and danced with them. My cousin Kingston spotted this guy dancing hard out by himself. We started laughing because we thought he wanted to dance with one of the Congo girls. Next up was the Royal Family.

The Royal Family are world famous dance groups such as bubblegum (junior), sorority (Varsity), misfits (Adults) and request (Adults) joined together as one. Their movements were  good but they had too much twerking songs. Also there dance moves were not the best because they were mostly girly and not the best choreography i've seen from them. But one of their dance sets was awesome it had two rows of six dancers. The back row were controlling the front row. They were making them pop, lock and drop in time with the music.

After the Royal family had finished their dance routine, fire dancers came out from the stage. I wondered what they were holding, it looked like a giant ear bud with fire on each end. While they were dancing I got startled when I heard an explosion. “Boom, Boom!” I gazed up at the sky and saw a cluster of exploding rainbow colours. I stood still in amazment watching the colours disappear into the darkness. After a few moments of silence I thought it was time to go home, but the organisers said, “An hour left to check out the rest of the show.”

So my family and I walked around looking at the other attractions. There were lots of activities such as Mahons Amusement carnival rides, Zirka Circus, farm world, art world and the superfly slide. I really wanted to do the superfly slide but unfortunately I didn't have a change of clothes

My favorite thing was spending time with my family watching the fireworks display. Next years Easter Show I hope to do the superfly slide and to watch the zirka circus.

Holiday Highlights Week 3

The reason why we went to Niue was to celebrate Galiki Family Reunion, this was awesome meeting the family from all around the world, including Canada!

Hooray! I had arrived back in New Zealand, home sweet home! It was a Sunday and it was my friend Janice's birthday the next day, I was excited because my mum told me that we were going to Jump and Swimarama. I couldn’t wait. Janice and her mum Natasha picked me up, roughly at 9:30 am. We went to Jump in east tamaki first and we went straight on all these trampolines, it was awesome! They had a foam pit, basketball turf ball and a freetime area where you leap on many trampolines one after the other.

After having an awesome time at Jump we were on our way to swimarama. When we entered the pools I went straight on the diving board, I went on it for most of the day. We stayed at swimarama till late. I was getting too late so my friends mum decided to drop me off back home. I had a great time at my friend’s birthday party.

Holiday Highlights Week 1

Touch Finals!
On the first week of the holidays I had my last touch game at Lloyd Elsmore Park. If we won our match then we are the champions for our division (Division 2). To my team’s surprise we had won our touch game, hooray! For our prize we each got a touch trophy from the touch organizers and a medal from our team manager.
Wave Rave!
Later in the first week of the holidays, I went to a wave rave with my friends (Louis, Tai and Janice) at G.I Pools. We got to do heaps of fun activities like we had to find these orange balls and if we found one we got a prize. They also had an inflatable rocket which you had to run all the way across. Each time my friends and I completed the mission we got a ferrero rocher (Chocolate). Also there was a particular game that I liked the most and it was heads or tails. You had to walk around the pool and when the official says stop then you stop and he makes an invisible line and he picks weather you’re heads or tails.
Later that day we went and saw some Christmas lights at a house on West Tamaki Road. Check out these photos!
