Summer Learning Journey W3:D13

C:\Users\rwil313\Desktop\MD army.jpg
Hari Merdeka or Independence Day.

What would you would eat?
On Hari Merdeka I would eat very traditional Malaysian Foods such as Nasi Lemak (rice and vegetables).
What would you would see?
I would see the military men and women and lots of other people dressed up. I would probably see Mr. Najib Rezak and his family.
What would you do to celebrate the day?
Dress up in my suit and tie. Participate in the parades, events and maybe go to the concerts.

Waitangi Day
For the past 3 years I have been visiting Waitangi where the Treaty was signed, with my family. After visiting the grounds I usually relax or have a family lunch. I like Waitangi day as I get a long weekend away from school.

!~Gaming Day~!

During my public holiday everybody will get a day off for gaming. There will be Black Ops 2, Minecraft, Tekken and other games held at different locations. This would give kids and adults the opportunity to try different games.  There would also be tournaments around the country for experts to play against each other.

Recount (Writing Test) Original And Edited Versions

EDITED VERSION:

The clock struck 10p.m on the 31st of December 2014. I was playing a game of Black Ops 2 with my older cousin Kingston at my uncle’s house in Panmure. I thought it would be like every other new years party we’ve had... boring, stink and possibly a headache because of all the horrific laughing. But turned out it wasn’t because this is the first year I could hear blasting loud music coming from the T.V speakers in the living room. My older cousin and I could hear screams of joy so we ran to the lounge to see what was going on. To our surprise the adults were gathered around the T.V screaming out the lyrics to the song All About That Bass while my younger cousins danced. Song after song I started getting hungry so I walked to the kitchen bench to see what was there to eat.

“Mmmmm delicious!” I stared as a big block of chocolate sat there lonely. But then as soon as I picked it up it was just a wrapper with nothing inside. I realised I was hallucinating. I shrug my shoulders and go to the table across from the kitchen to see if there is anything to eat or drink there. This time I didn’t imagine things because I had drank half a bottle of raspberry and gobbled a quarter of ready salted chips.

Feeling wrecked I looked down at my watch and the time read 11:45. “15 minutes to go!” I shout out to my family, making sure they hear me. Waiting as the minutes go by it’s 11:59 one more minute until New Years Day. I go back to the sitting room and tell my uncle to turn off the music cause the countdowns coming soon. As he grabs the xbox controller he exits the song picking another one but pausing just before it starts. My uncle then goes to his computer and clicks on the MAI FM link to listen to the countdown live. My uncle then counts down.....“10! 9! 8!,” Everyone joins in and were up to 5. “5! 4! 3! 2! 1! HAPPY NEW YEARS!!” Everyone screams!

After one huge CHEE HOO! Everyone started saying, “Happy new year!”. I went to my mum first and gave her a big hug and smooch on the cheek and said, “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” She replied back with, “I LOVE YOU!!” I started laughing and crying tears of joy. To make a long story short, after I greeted everyone with a happy new year my mum and I drove home.

I reckon News Years Eve and Day are the best days ever because you get to gather with your family and celebrate. It’s probably not better than your birthday if you’re a really spoilt kid like my friend Chris...Hehehehe!

Chilling With Zane!

On a cold winters morning I was sitting at home chatting to my friend Zane on gmail. He asked if I wanted to come over and hang out. So I queried my mum and hoped that she would answer me positively. Much to my surprise she said yes, “WOOHOO!” I shouted excitedly. Being over excited I quickly ran to my room and organized my gear to take to his house. Then at exactly 2:00 Zane’s mum, Maata, came and picked me up. I waved back at my mum as she was getting ready to go to work.

When we entered Zane’s house, Clinton, Zanes dad, was sitting on the couch watching T.V. while Kaycee, his sister, was in her room talking with her friend. Zane and I were planning on what our first activity should be. He said, “First we should play BO2. Second we should do rotations on my laptop and our netbooks, then last watch a movie. Probably Battle Of The Year?” I agreed.

So Zane and I asked his dad if we could put on the xbox and play BO2 (Black Ops 2), he said, “Yes.”  Zane set the game console up. After setting it up we played multiplayer mode so we could both play. Halfway through playing multiplayer we decided to do our second activity which was to play Minecraft. You may already know what Minecraft is from my previous holiday story. If not click the link below. http://pesstevensone.blogspot.co.nz/2014/07/why-are-video-games-good.html

So back to the story, the reason why I went to Zane’s house was to literally hang out, play Black Ops 2 and Minecraft with him. I was very happy... I felt like I was welcome at his house because his mum made us lunch and dinner and his family were cool and enjoyed my company ( I think). I felt so comfortable there. They had everything I like for example fish & chips and lots of video games.

Around 10:30 my mum arrived but I wasn’t ready to go, so my mum and Zane’s mum talked for a while. Zane and I were still playing on minecraft in his room. A few hours later though Maata came and told me that my mum was ready to go, so I said goodbye to Kaycee, Maata, Clinton and Zane and exited the front door. When my mum and I walked out the door I asked her if I could sleepover but I got denied.

Hanging out with Zane was such an awesome experience because I had lots of fun and great company. I hope that I will get to sleepover next time.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops II

Black Ops II:
Do you know what COD (Call Of Duty): Blacks Ops II is? Well its a Xbox game that involves shooting, score streaks, 3 different categories, maps, guns and more. The three categories are campaign, multi-player and zombies, I usually play multi-player. Score streaks are stuff you can activate after you have shot a couple of people. I use care packages, lodestar, sentry guns and A.G.R to excel through the game.

Score streaks:
Care packages have lodestars sentry guns and A.G.R's in them. So if you collect them you get one of them then you can activate it. Lodestar is a plane that is loaded with missiles. You press the shoot button (RT) which launches a missle straight to your enemie you have targeted. Sentry gun is a gun that you place anywhere and whenever a enemie comes it shoots them. Its very good at protecting. A.G.R is a little sentry gun but it moves around. Its just the same as sentry gun.

Multiplayer:
In multi-player you can pick local, Xbox live or system link depending on who you want to play with. Local you can let other people join your game. Xbox live is where you play people on their Xbox that are connected to Xbox live. System link you can join a game or create one. I don't usually play system link because its just the same as local.

Zombies:
Next comes in zombies. Its where you can go to three stages and survive as many rounds as you can. My highest in surviving zombies is ten rounds. It starts off easy then  continuously gets harder.

Conclusion:
Playing COD: Black Ops II is quite addictive and frustrating. Addictive because once you know how to play you want to just sit in the lounge and play all day and night 24/7. Frustrating because you might keep dying and you can't get any score streaks.

Playing Games With My Uncle And Cousin On The Last Day Of The Holiday

One windy afternoon I went over to my uncle’s house next door at 12:00 and played Halo 4. Its a shooting game where there are two teams, red and blue, and you have to try find and kill them. We played until 2:00 and then we drove to JB-HIFI, in Sylvia park, to go buy Black Ops 2.

When we arrived at Sylvia Park my cousin and I played the games on the Ipads while my uncle went and looked for Black Ops 2 to play at his house. He brought the game and told to us, “Let’s go now I've got the game.” we drove back to the house.

We got to his house and straight away played Black Ops. Black Ops is the same as Halo except when you do matchmaking (Playing with other people online) it is faster than ever you can’t even have a break to have lunch and a snack. Also Black Ops have more guns than Halo and Black Ops is just better.

My uncle, cousin and I played until 5:00 then went to Manukau to drop off my uncle’s karate fee’s. Then we drove back to my uncle’s house and I went back home next door had dinner and had a deep sleep until I woke up for school.
