Chilling With Zane!

On a cold winters morning I was sitting at home chatting to my friend Zane on gmail. He asked if I wanted to come over and hang out. So I queried my mum and hoped that she would answer me positively. Much to my surprise she said yes, “WOOHOO!” I shouted excitedly. Being over excited I quickly ran to my room and organized my gear to take to his house. Then at exactly 2:00 Zane’s mum, Maata, came and picked me up. I waved back at my mum as she was getting ready to go to work.

When we entered Zane’s house, Clinton, Zanes dad, was sitting on the couch watching T.V. while Kaycee, his sister, was in her room talking with her friend. Zane and I were planning on what our first activity should be. He said, “First we should play BO2. Second we should do rotations on my laptop and our netbooks, then last watch a movie. Probably Battle Of The Year?” I agreed.

So Zane and I asked his dad if we could put on the xbox and play BO2 (Black Ops 2), he said, “Yes.”  Zane set the game console up. After setting it up we played multiplayer mode so we could both play. Halfway through playing multiplayer we decided to do our second activity which was to play Minecraft. You may already know what Minecraft is from my previous holiday story. If not click the link below. http://pesstevensone.blogspot.co.nz/2014/07/why-are-video-games-good.html

So back to the story, the reason why I went to Zane’s house was to literally hang out, play Black Ops 2 and Minecraft with him. I was very happy... I felt like I was welcome at his house because his mum made us lunch and dinner and his family were cool and enjoyed my company ( I think). I felt so comfortable there. They had everything I like for example fish & chips and lots of video games.

Around 10:30 my mum arrived but I wasn’t ready to go, so my mum and Zane’s mum talked for a while. Zane and I were still playing on minecraft in his room. A few hours later though Maata came and told me that my mum was ready to go, so I said goodbye to Kaycee, Maata, Clinton and Zane and exited the front door. When my mum and I walked out the door I asked her if I could sleepover but I got denied.

Hanging out with Zane was such an awesome experience because I had lots of fun and great company. I hope that I will get to sleepover next time.

Why Are Video Games Good?

Why are video games good? Video games are good because it keeps you busy, teaches you things and keeps you fit. How does video games keep you busy? One of the reasons why video games are good because if you're, bored, alone or inactive you could play on a game console, such as a xbox. I always play video games that can teach me things such as the game called Minecraft. What is minecraft?

Minecraft is a video game where you build things like a house (as many stories as you want), fast food buildings such as a Mcdonalds, pools, people, minion, mods, skins, literary anything. Minecraft is infinite which means the world is limitless. Minecraft can also teach you how to make things like armor, sticks, wood planks etc by crafting and collecting supplies by mining diamonds, iron or gold. Minecraft is a really good interesting game that is addictive. Fitness Time!

Keeping you fit is another reason why video games are good. There are games that you can play that can get you fit like the Dance Central Series, Just Dance Succession, Kinect Sports and many more. Dance Central is a game where you have to mirror the onscreen characters moves with either a family member, friend or by yourself, its the same with Just Dance but you can play upto 4 players. Kinect sports is a variety of sport games that you can play such as boxing, soccer, track and field, bowling etc.

In conclusion video games are good as they can keep you, busy if you're bored, it can teach you things like how to build a house or a restaurant and most of all keep you fit by playing Dance Central, Just Dance or Kinect Sports. Who would want to live without video games!

PAY DAY!!

Every Thursday I get excited because I get payed $10 for doing my chores. My jobs are to clean my room, dishes, microwave and sweep the kitchen floor. If I do a good job I get an extra $5. So during these holidays I have been going hard out to get more money. This has paid off as not only my mum, given me money but my nana and grandpa have also paid me too. So I am going to go shopping at PAK N SAVE today to spend my cash and travel to Botany Downs and play at Xtreme Entertainment.

In PAK N SAVE there is a range of things you can choose like meat, pork, chocolate, fruits, veggies, popcorn, biscuits, fish, salmon and many other foods. The things I like to buy are steak, chocolate, popcorn, fruits and veggies. I like these things because they are all healthy except for popcorn and chocolate, they are my treats. If I don’t have enough money my mum buys my shopping.  Hmm Xtreme Entertainment? I have never been to the one in Botany I have only experienced the one in Wairau Valley. Xtreme Entertainment is a stupendous building where all these arcade games are inside and they have a laser tag room too. I want to go there, as I want to try out Botanys laser tag to see if it is any good compared to the one in Wairau Valley.

Next Thursday instead of getting paid, I hope my mum will let me have a sleepover with my friends. She says no a lot because sometimes she is busy or somethings come up unexpectedly. I love sleepovers because its a time where I can hang out with my friends 24/7. Also I don’t have any siblings which makes me a bit bored. My previous sleep overs have been awesome experiences.

I like Thursdays for many reasons such as getting paid, going shopping and having fun at new places. Whats your favourite day of the week and why? Comment down below to answer this question. COOL THANX MKAY BYE!

Why Is Junk Food Bad?

People may ask why is junk food bad? Well most of all it can get you fat, give you bad skin and it doesn't have enough vitamins and minerals. Junk food is also bad as it could cause diabetes and make you very sick. Thats why it is important to follow the food pyramid.

The food pyramid is a big triangle that has foods that you should eat little, moderately and mostly. Up the top is a small triangle that has all the things that you should eat less such as fats, oils, sugar and salt. Below is the protein such as meat & alternatives which is what we should moderately eat. Then it is fruits, vegetables, rice and alternatives which we should select more. Next is fatness.

Eating too much junk food gets you fat and thats what you don’t want because it could lead to obesity. Most junk foods are filled with fat and are calorie-dense and nutrients poor. This means that the nutrition thats in the food is poor and the calories are high to make it more dense in matter. So if I were you I would stick to the food pyramid. After fatness comes bad skin.

Bad skin is horrendous and ugly which is caused by eating too much junk food! I mean do you really want pimples or patchy skin? If you answered no well stop freakin eating junk food mate. If you answered yes well, uhmm just keep eating junk food OKAY!

I conclude that junk food is bad! I mean bad, bad. Its not good for you, but if you still don’t listen to me I suggest you go get yourself a good food doctor that can teach you how to STOP FREAKIN EATING JUNK FOOD!!!!!

Malawi DLO

This term the Year 5&6 extension group have been learning about Malawi. Malawi is one of the poorest countries in the world. They don't have much food and any clean water. So everyone that has a variety of food and complains, you should be grateful for what you have because there are people who are less fortunate than you. There are more facts in my movie. Hope you enjoy ≧◉◡◉≦!

Rugby League Tournament

Today was the day I have been waiting for all term. It was the Eastern Zones Rugby League Tournament 2014. After getting changed at school I got a ride with Andy, who is Taimana’s mum and the coach of our team (U45kg), to Mt Wellington War Memorial Fields (Dunkirk). When we arrived the teachers set up the gazebo so we could but I bags under it. After a few minutes we had our first game.

For our first game we versed Meadowbank team one. Everyone kept blabbing on about how easy they looked. Well they did, but you never know its not about size, it's about heart. We set up to kick off. When the ball had lifted off everybody sprinted to it like it was $1,000,000. Meadowbank hit it up and Jordan hit the guy hard. “4 on me red!” The ref shouted at us. “Pass it here!” Said one of Meadowbanks back. He passed and Sateki intercepted. He sprinted off, no one to tackle him down, he scored. “Woohoo!” Our supporters cheered. “Beep!” The buzzer went off and it was half time. Meadowbank kicked off and Oloti got the ball and ran it up. Meadowbank tackled him and kept tackling. Nobody scored. Meadowbank played well but we won. I wonder what my best game would be?

I think my best game was against Tamaki Primary because I scored two tries. Both of them were from dummy and I also did well in defence. I think this was everyones best game too as our defence was strong and so was our attack. Fortunately for us we won this one too, six- nil (6-0).

After winning all our pool games we faced Meadowbank team two in the finals. It was so intense because both of the teams wanted to go to Auckland Champs. The ball kept on going back and forth but eventually someone scored. Unfortunately it wasn’t us it was Meadobank. Our team was devastated but we held our heads high and continued playing our best. We tried and tried but it was to difficult to score a goal. The final buzzer went and we lost. It was unlucky for us but I think we all participated well.

Overall I think we all tried really hard to win the, Rugby League Tournament, but we didn’t quite get there. To be honest Meadowbank had a great comeback to win against us in the finals. Also thank you to Andy who coached us, taking her free time to train us and take us this far. I hope we get to face Meadow bank again and beat them next year.
