Winter Learning Journey Day 1:Activity 1

If I was alive 2792 years ago and was invited to compete in the first ever ancient Olympic Games I would have to pick out of 6 events. Running, wrestling, boxing, pankration, horse racing and pentathlon. Out of the choices I would have to pick boxing as it’s a favourite sport of mine and a enjoyable sport to learn.

  1. Hi Stevenson!

I am so happy to see that you have joined our winter learning journey this year. I really enjoyed blogging with you last summer and was hoping that you would take up the challenge again this year. Welcome back!

I enjoyed reading your post and learning that you would have chosen to be a boxer if you were alive 2792 years ago. I think that you are very brave to select such a physically demanding sport but I am sure that you could handle it. Do you have much experience with boxing? I have watched a little bit of it over the years and enjoyed a recent documentary about one of the greatest boxers of all time - Mohammad Ali. Have you ever seen footage of him boxing? He was a legend.

Hope that your holidays go well! I'll look forward to blogging with you throughout the next two weeks.

    Best,
    Rachel

    1. Thank you Rachel. I have had boxing lessons with my uncles last year and the year before. But this year I've been caught up in other things so I haven't had time to practice. Muhammad Ali was one of my favorite boxers along with David Tua and Mike Tyson. I've watched many knockout videos from those three boxers and they are awesome. Well gotta go finish off some more activities.
