The Power Of 40 (20 Hour Famine)

World Vision PES 20 hour famine team from SchoolTV on Vimeo.

"The Power Of 40!"
As the stars slowly began to rise the famine team (Extension Members) got the opportunity to sleep over at our school, Pt England. The extension members were doing the 20 Hour Famine. We are sleeping in the school library to raise funds for the children in Malawi. This money will go towards fresh water, better housing, nutritious food and a better school for their education.

These children are unlucky because they have to travel far to find food and clean water. But here in NZ its right in front of us. For this reason I am doing the famine to experience what the Malawians go through everyday.

One interesting fact that I learnt from the 40 hour famine Ambassadors was that they told us, the toilets are just a hole in the ground, shared by over 100 people in the village. Another fascinating fact is that in some of the lakes there are crocodiles and the fish in Malawi is very delicious.
